1. Ethics isn't just a subject, its a responsibility for every student, in every field.
2. From STEM to the humanities, ethics shapes the impact of every discipline.
3. At IES, we believe discussion sparks interest, interest sparks awareness, and awareness sparks action.
4. We don’t just study ethics — we live it through community service, leadership, and action.
5. Ethics isn’t just for students in the humanities — it’s essential for scientists, engineers, and everyone in between.
6. Through expert forums and peer-led debates, we build the critical thinking to tackle real-world dilemmas.
7. We write, speak, question, and act — because learning ethics means applying it.
8. Our service projects reflect our values — because ethical thought must translate into ethical change.
9. We bring students together across schools and subjects to explore what’s right, what’s just, and what’s possible.
10. IES exists to prove that ethics belongs everywhere — not in textbooks, but in everyday choices.

"At IES, we believe that ethics isn’t just a subject—it’s the foundation of everything humans have done and are doing. As a student-led organization, our vision is to create a club where students from different schools all over the world can come together to develop intellectual virtues such as ethical awareness, critical thinking skills, civil discourse, and the ability to engage with and be inclusive of diverse points of view. Prior to starting this organization, we came together at a local cafe to discuss about various issues around the world, especially because we had come back from a competitive debate tournament, which opened our eyes and intrigued us about what was going on in the world around us. After a long discussion, both of us came to a conclusion that ethics is the very foundation of what classifies morally correct actions. We realized that without ethics, public policy and law around the world that have been greatly benefiting people would not have existed. We realized that understanding the issues first and living them through action was a priori to simply taking ethics in at a purely academic level. This took us to contacting community service centers that directly work to mitigate these issues, like Nanoom Korea, and the Jiguchon Children's Center. We knew these experiences would help members of our club gain a personal connection to the people suffering, propelling interest and awareness that would lead to a virtuous cycle of action.
The Interscholastic Ethics Society: Advancing ethical inquiry and thoughtful dialogue."
